My #1 Budget-Friendly Business Exposure Hack

Howdy! In today’s blog post, I want to talk about how to sell and market your product while bootstrapping.

It’s no surprise that when you are bootstrapping, you don’t have a lot of money left over for marketing or ads. You’re just “eating the food” that you gather every day.

So, how do you get the word out about your business on a budget?

Before I attended conferences and gave keynote speeches, I went out on the road and gave speeches for free to whoever would listen. I approached many different organizations and spoke about technology’s impact on the industry, which got my business a ton of exposure. This is also how I refined my skills as a communicator and a public speaker.

Why this worked: This approach gave me a much larger reach than I would have gotten otherwise and on an extremely low budget.

At the heart of bootstrapping is resourcefulness. I define resourcefulness as doing the best you can with what you have. I identified my strength, which was public speaking, and I used that as an opportunity to build my resume to speak at hundreds of conferences over the years.

From this, I’ve been able to drive a lot of real growth that would not have happened had I not gone on the road.

Important Question to Ask Yourself this Week:

How can you utilize free or low-cost opportunities to gain exposure for your business?
