Focusing on Adoption

I believe there are 5 steps to follow to innovate from within, and today I want to talk about Step 5If you missed Steps 1 through 4, check out our latest blog posts.

Step #5 on How to Innovate from Within:

Focus on Adoption

Companies are either forward-thinking and excited to implement technology or hesitant because they don’t see the real benefit quite yet.

The best people I know who are innovators, growth hackers, or “mad scientists” (as I like to call them) are the folks who make innovation a game.

When I say “Mad Scientist,” you probably think of Albert Einstein or Frankenstein.

But here’s who I’m thinking of:

> Lockheed Martin’s Skunk Works lab: Pivotal in developing plans and drones in the 1960s that influenced space travel.

> Google X “The Moonshot Factory:” They launched balloons over Africa that could last 100 days at a time and supplied free wifi.

> Alexander Graham Bell, Nikola Tesla, and Steve Jobs—these mad scientists revolutionized modern society.

To me, “Mad Scientists” are the people who literally study game theory and make it fun for people to adopt new technology.

To innovate from within, you will not just sit around and say, “Let’s see what happens.” You say, “I want to be an entrepreneur/intrapreneur.” You focus on adoption and getting people to love your product or service, making it irreplaceable.

Important Question to Ask Yourself this Week:

Who do you view as a “Mad Scientist” in your company? How can you focus on making people fall in love with your product or service?
